Red Hat JBoss Enterprise Application Platform (JBoss EAP) 7.2 is a certified implementation of the Java Enterprise Edition (Java EE) 8 specification. JBoss EAP provides preconfigured options for features such as high-availability clustering, messaging, and distributed caching. It also enables users to write, deploy, and run applications using the various APIs and services that JBoss EAP provides. JBoss EAP includes a modular structure that allows service enabling only when required, improving startup speed. The web-based management console and management command line interface (CLI) make editing XML configuration files unnecessary and add the ability to script and automate tasks.

Step 1: Installing and Configuring Java
Before heading up for the JBOSS EAP 7 installation, make sure you must have JAVA installed on your Linux box to run JBOSS EAP 7. If not, iInstall the latest version of JAVA or use the following YUM COMMAND to install available Java from the default repositories.
yum install java-1.8.0-openjdk-devel #install JDK 8 OR
# yum install java-11-openjdk-devel #install JDK 11
Once Java installed, you can verify the newly installed JAVA version running the following command on your system.
# java -version
openjdk version “11.0.4” 2019-07-16 LTS
OpenJDK Runtime Environment 18.9 (build 11.0.4+11-LTS)
OpenJDK 64-Bit Server VM 18.9 (build 11.0.4+11-LTS, mixed mode, sharing)
Note: Before starting the JBOSS EAP Installation, configure JAVA_HOME environment variable inside .bash_profile
# source ~/.bash_profile
Now check java version using following command # java
Step 2: Installing JBOSS EAP 7
After installing JAVA on the system, now it’s time to download the latest version of JBOSS EAP 7. If you want to download the latest version of JBOSS EAP 7 then please follow the below URL for download latest version of JBOSS EAP.
Now download the latest version of Apache Tomcat 9, using following wget command and set up it as shown.
# cd /usr/local
# wget https://developers.redhat.com/download-manager/file/jboss-eap-7.2.0-installer.jar
Running the JBoss EAP Installer
You can run the JBoss EAP JAR installer in either graphical or text mode.
Running the JBoss EAP Graphical Installer
1.Open a terminal and navigate to the directory containing the downloaded JBoss EAP Installer JAR file.
2.Run the graphical installer using the following command:
# java -jar jboss-eap-7.2.0-installer.jar
1. Follow the instructions in the table below.
Language Selection – Choose the desired language for the installer and click OK.
License Agreement – Select “I accept the terms of this license agreement.”, and click Next.
3.3 Installation Path -Select the installation path for JBoss EAP, and click Next.
3.4 Component Selection – Select the components to install.
3.5.Create an Administrative User – Create an administrative user and assign a password. Then click Next.
3.6 Installation Overview – Review your installation options, then click Next.
3.7 Component Installation – When the installation progress completes, click Next

Now we all set to start the JBoss EAP using the scripts provided by the JBOSS EAP package.
# cd /usr/local/jboss7/EAP.7.2/bin # ./standalone.sh
Now, You can browse JBOSS web server on port 8080 using you local machine ip EX: http://localhost:8080 OR http://127.0.0.1:8080
To access the Admin Console and other sections like Deployments, Configuration Settings and Access Control.
Now browse http://localhost:9990 for Admin Console and it will prompt you to enter user credentials, enter username and password.
